The End of Soccer Season

Henry's soccer season ended today. The Sharks played their hearts out all season. Let's just say the season was a lesson in perseverance for them. Regardless of their win-loss record, Henry loved it and really loves having Eric as coach. We are all looking forward to our schedule slowing down a bit as we wind down soccer and get ready for summer.

Pony Rides

Here are a few pictures from the Kaleidoscope carnival which took place recently at Watermark. Kaleidoscope is the sunday morning program for children with special needs at Watermark. Owen does not participate in the program as he is able to be in the mainstream programs without assistance. Even so, we get invited to fun events like this one where we know several of the families. Every year that put on a small but very fun carnival. This year the kids enjoyed bubbles, face painting, lots of candy, a cake walk and other activities. All three kids took pony rides on Little Buck that day. I have also included an up close of Owen's face painting, a spider web!!

Owen's Golf Debut

This past Saturday, Owen and I attended a Learn to Golf Clinic put on by Scottish Rite Hospital and the USGA. It was so much fun. Owen spent about an hour at each station: putting, chipping and driving. He really loved it. He told Eric at the end of the day "It was great! Dad, it was so quiet." It was a very peaceful and fun morning. The golf instruction was very good. There were also many volunteers there helping so that Owen had someone either working with him or at least encouraging him him almost the whole morning.

As a part of the clinic and because he is a patient of the hospital, he brought home a free set of starter clubs and a $250 scholarship towards golf lessons. If he decides to pursue golf and take lessons long term, the hospital will have custom clubs made for him because he is a "sitting player" and the angles on the different clubs need to be slightly different than for a typical set of clubs. Scottish Rite really knows how to take care of their patients!!

Enjoy the pictures of our smiley guy!

More Easter Pictures

The kids enjoyed hunting for eggs in their PJs on Easter morning. Eric managed to hide 78 eggs around here and most of them have been recovered. In the process of hunting for eggs, Henry managed to find a phone that has been missing for months!

After church, we headed to the park for a picnic with our community group and, of course, more eggs!! Included are some pictures of Meghan counting her eggs. At age 3, it goes something like this......1, 2, 3, 7, 9 16, 4, 8, 12! Also included is a shot of our 3 Easter bunnies and then one of Owen with his good buddy, Christopher. Despite cloudy and misty weather, it was very fun and the kids are still asking to go back to the "egg park."

Festival Time!

These past two weeks have been full of extra special times for Henry and Owen. Both boys had their festivals at Coram Deo. Each class has a festival day where they celebrate something they have studied all year.

Henry's class had an Egyptian festival. He and his friend, Caleb, gave a one minute presentation on egyptian art. They had created some art of their own in the weeks leading up to the festival which they showed off during their speech.

Owen's class celebrated their year of reading Mother Goose. He and his friend, Lindsey, recited Row Row Row Your Boat.

Attached are some pictures from each of the boys' special days.
