Waiting for Baby

Here are some cute pictures mostly of Henry and Owen playing with our friend, Ryan. Ryan is a fourth child but is the first boy in his family. The boys had so much fun bringing him toys and playing with him while we babysat him on thursday night. They seem excited at the idea of having another little one around here.

We still have no news from the adoption agency. This week marked our 4th month on the waiting list. The average time to get matched is 6 months. After that, we will still have from 2-5 months to wait for a court date and then another 6 weeks after court until we bring her home. The wait has not been hard so far, mostly i think because we are so busy and (obviously) we have our hands full. Meghan has really needed extra attention from eric and me during these months. Being three requires alot of guidance and loving correction. It is not difficult to see the purpose in the wait. We continue to trust in God's perfect timing to bring this next baby home.

Pickle Popsicle

What's better on a hot 100 degree day in Dallas than a popsicle, right? Here are some pictures trying their first (and last?) pickle popsicle. A few weeks ago Henry requested that we freeze the leftover dill pickle juice so that he could try it as a popsicle. All three kids tried it and nobody really complained...... but nobody asked to make any more. Enjoy the pictures.

Crazy Hair Day!

The boys are both in vacation bible school this week and are enjoying it very much. One thing that they do at VBS every year is crazy hair day. In the past the boys have been too shy or embarased to participate. We were so proud of both boys for wanting to actually wear crazy hair this year. Here are some pictures from this morning before we left the house.

Meghan was also looking super cute so i asked her to get in the pictures too. She has been very determined to pick her own clothes lately. This usually means she wears some pretty "interesting" combinations. But today she picked out this cute dress and even wanted to wear white shoes "because they match" and "a big white bow please." I wondered to myself.... is this really Meghan?!?!? Anyway, i had to get a picture of that. And needless to say, by 10:30am she had already changed outfits 3 times and the bow and white shoes were long gone.... replaced with flowing curly frocks and cowboy boots..... that's more like her own self.

She Swims Too!

Meghan had her first round of swimming lessons this year. She enjoyed the lessons so much and never cried or complained about Miss Carol. She did great and is starting to be able to do a little swimming under water. Here are some pictures from her lessons including her first jump off the side of the pool. She took lessons with good friends, Lindsey and Landry. The only downside to swimming lessons this year was that they fell right during nap time. She was doing ok without a nap before she started swimming but when she spends time in the pool it really wears her out. Anyway, by the end of the two weeks we were all glad to have our afternoons back for resting.

Bubbles

I am attaching a few pictures from a couple of weeks back when the kids were playing with some new bubble wands in the front yard. The ones of Meghan are especially funny as she is still learning to blow bubbles and puts alot of effort into it (see picture below). Enjoy!
